I have one more trick that I started doing this week…hopefully mom can catch it on video and post it tomorrow!
I have one more trick that I started doing this week…hopefully mom can catch it on video and post it tomorrow!
On Monday, March 12, 2012, you turned 5 months old! In the short 5 months you have been alive…you have been one busy girl! You haven’t stopped moving since you came out of the womb! You are right on track developmentally…maybe even a little advanced (OT mom talking here)! You continue to refuse to sleep when you are with us! We just got back from Phoenix…and I was thinking that maybe while we were down there, you would actually sleep more like you do at daycare…but no such luck! You are a 30 minute power napper and then you are refreshed to play! You are starting to stay up longer, which is fun! You are awake for about 3 hours at a time now…and slowly progressing to 45-60 minute naps…knock on wood! You are so much fun to be with and you make my entire world (well…along with your dad!) (oh! and Henry and Maggie too!) You continue to be a very happy baby! We have nicknamed you DQ (drama queen) and little Lizard has still stuck! Your tongue is always sticking out of your mouth and it is long! You are quite the DQ if you happen to be “neglected” for 30 seconds! Since your hospitalization, you have quit sleeping through the night...grrrrrrr. We are hoping that someday soon this will become part of your daily routine! PLEASE!?!?!? If we are ever in public, everyone comments on your beautiful (and big) blue eyes! I hope they stay…and I am sure they will…those Anderson genes are pretty strong! You are really beginning to figure out the whole “I can move” bit to life! You are rolling all over the place, reaching for items out of your reach and turning yourself around! And today (3.16.12) you are figuring out that your legs do bend to help propel you forward! UH-OH! We are in trouble! Everyday continues to be a joyous and wonderful adventure with you! Time is flying by and I can’t believe that you are 5 months old! Your 1st B’day is going to be here before I know it! STOP growing up so fast! We are thankful everyday for you and bring us so much love! We love you sweet baby girl!

We have had our Phoenix vacation planned since you were about 1 month old! We were on the edge of our seat all week, since you got RSV and ear infections…we were not sure if we would be able to travel or not! We had a doctor appointment on Thursday to make sure that your ears were good enough to travel! And they are pretty yucky still, but Dr. Idzerda gave us the OK to travel! Phew! You were such a good traveler! We made sure that you had a bottle on take-off and everything went smoothly! You fell asleep and slept the rest of the plane ride and even through landing! I was little nervous, as we had strict orders to make sure you had a bottle at take-off and landing…but I wasn’t about to wake you up…so I tried to shove the pacifier in your mouth so if your ears started to bug you, the pacifier would at least be in your mouth!
Today we enjoyed a beautiful walk in the sun, while you took a bit of a nap! And then we prepared for you very first swim!! We got you lathered in sunblock and headed on out to grandpa and grandma’s pool! Needless to say, we have had a pretty good 2nd day of vacation!
You have been a bit fussy down here…and we have all concluded that we think you are teething! You also had the BIGGEST blow-out diaper that I have ever seen! I fed you carrots for breakfast and some oatmeal for lunch, and then…BOOM! Poo all up the front of you-up to your armpits! IT WAS NASTY!!! And of course we forgot to get a picture of it!
Warm Weather!!!!
Cousins!!!
So about 2 weeks ago, I took you in because you had the worst looking right eye I have ever seen…turns out it was an eye infection. So the doctor put you on Amoxicillin. I scheduled a follow-up appointment for Feb 24 to make sure your ear infection went away! We don’t want those to continue to fester. But needless to say, on Tuesday, Feb. 21, you woke up with boogers crusted all over your face. I should have gotten a picture, but didn’t think of it at the time. You went to daycare and were a bit fussy, but nothing bad. On Wednesday, daycare called and said that you were just having a bad day. You woke up that morning with a “seal-like” bark. So, dad took you to the doctor early. You checked out fine with just a moderate cough. Thursday you were doing better at daycare, and so mom and dad decided to go to a cooking class with some friends. Friday morning, you woke up again with nasty boogers all over. We took you in to Sophie for you 4 month pictures and you suffered through them with great gusto! We came home and you took a 2 1/2 hour nap…and you NEVER take this long of a nap at home. When you woke up, you were breathing pretty hard, very lethargic and not interested in eating. I called the doctor, not sure if I was just being a paranoid mother or not…and they were able to get you in. Needless to say, you tested positive for RSV, left eye infection and a right ear infection. Your O2 stats were good, but they wanted a follow-up appointment on Saturday. Friday night, was ROUGH! You did not eat anything from 5:30 pm till 1:30 Saturday when we were in the ER! Nor did you have a wet diaper. You woke about every 45 minutes wailing and screaming in pain with very labored breathing! So we got back into the doc earlier than we planned, and with that appt, the safest bet was to head to the hospital because your O2 was borderline. So after some O2 and Tylenol, you got some good rest…you are breathing better today (Sunday), eating better and even playing! I think we are staying the night again to be on the safe side! So, hopefully, we are on the mend…as our Phoenix trip is coming up on Friday!! We love you so much and you are such a strong fighter!

Today you turned 4 months old! And with that, you have your first ear infection! I am sure it is the first of many to come! We had a play date on Friday with Lauren, Holten, Ellen, Lindsey and Elizabeth at the Library. We had such a great time watching everyone play and you even showed off a bit by rolling all over the place. Friday afternoon, we went into the doctor because it looked like you had pink eye…little did I know that the result was an ear infection! You don’t even seem bothered by it…you really don’t seem to enjoy the medicine. It is amazing at how fast you learn things! In just a week you are rolling all over the place and getting yourself turned 180 degrees. And just the other day, you started putting your foot in your mouth! Ahhh…how I love to watch you grow.
You are sharing your 4 month celebration with Grandpa Art’s 67th Birthday! Happy Birthday Grandpa, see you in a few weeks!
Love you to the moon and stars and back! Momma

Big Eyes
You had your 4 month check up on February 3! You were such a champ, as you got 3 more shots and an oral vaccination! You are developing right on track! You are rolling over tummy to back, babbling, laughing (though it takes a bit of work on mom and dad’s part to make you laugh!) and playing with your feet! And tonight you rolled from your back to your tummy! Of course, dad had just left the house, so I ran and got the camera and caught you on video! Your 4 month check-up (2 weeks shy) measurements are as follows: Head 16.5 in. (81%), Height 23 1/4 in. (22%), and weight 12 lbs 8 oz (40%)! We also started you on rice cereal. You are so funny to watch when I feed you! You seem to be very interested in the cereal and you will even open your mouth for me…and then you get this horrendous look on your face and spit and thrust that tongue out further than I have ever seen! It is SOOOO fun to watch you develop and change! You have been quite the drama queen lately…if dad or I leave the room to go do whatever…you stick your lip out and start to cry! And we just laugh! But do know…that we love you very much! I have so many things that I just love about you, but I think the thing(s) that I am enjoying the most are: when you wake up in the morning and you just talk away to the world and as much as it pains me (or I should say my boob) I love when you rip off the nipple and look up at me with this BIG grin on your face and then you giggle a bit! And of course I love to what you grow and learn about everything! Daycare continues to go well and the girls there just adore you! We continue to be pretty active on the weekends, as the weather has allowed us to put you in the Chariot and go for some runs and some nice walks! We are hoping to put you in your own room here soon…your mom is just too lazy to get up in the middle of the night to walk down the hall to feed you! But I cannot complain, you are only waking up once at night and every now and again you will let your mom sleep through the night! Hadley, you are such a wonderful blessing and joy in our lives and we love you so very much!
