1 YEAR OLD!!!

I can hardly believe that one year ago, I was procrastinating heading to the hospital to welcome you into this crazy world! And now, I can’t even believe that we lived without you for so long!

Hadley, you are 1 year old!  Happy Birthday to my precious angel!  And let’s just say that we have had more of a 2 week celebration for your birthday than just celebrating for one day…but don’t think that that is the norm!

Grandpa and grandma Anderson drove over from the farm for the big birthday celebration! Pappa and Munga Reinhardt are on a month long travel adventure, so they were not able to make it! We had a nice quiet night on your birthday and then on Saturday, 13th, we had a bunch of family and friends over for your big day celebration!  You were surrounded by a TON of people that love you!  We have some awesome people in our lives!  Grandpa and Grandma Anderson got you a John Deere Tractor and you play with this toy ALL of the time!  You enjoy lugging the little animals around with you and you love to open and close the seat…BUT most of all…you LOVE to climb on it!

The weekend after your birthday, we headed up to Fairmont Hot Springs to spend a nice weekend away from home!  You loved it!  I think you actually got a little sick of being in the water…You even went down the waterslide!  I am not sure if you really enjoyed it or not…but you made it down the slide 3 times!  You also had your very first hot chocolate at Fairmont…you really didn’t care all that much for it! On our way to Fairmont we stopped in Butte and went to Headframe Distillery. We are THOSE parents that had a baby in a Distillery, well actually this is your 2nd time in a Distillery. Gotta love Roughstock first and foremost.

You continue to bring us daily laughter, humor and testing of our patience!  You are growing and developing right on track! You follow the 25% curve just perfectly for your weight and height, but let me tell you…that noggen is right up there in the 92% at your 12 month check up!  We like to tell everyone, it is big because she is sooo smart!  You are now walking pretty much full force (this only started on Friday 19th)…but you have really been testing the water walking here and there at home!  You will still crawl because it is faster for you, but you can just see the joy in your eye when you walk around. You also think that you are strong enough to carry items while you are walking, sometimes it works for you, other times it does not!  You are also imitating play, most specifically with anything that resembles a phone!  You have a few “words” that you say pretty consistently, and they are: “uh-oh, hi, dad (dadda also, but mostly dad), and every so often when you want me to feel special you will say mamma.” You mostly love to raise your arms up and scream at us when you want something. But you are really good with signing “please” and we ALWAYS make you do this….manners are a good thing!  You are also beginning to imitate some animal sounds. You will try to “moo” and “quack” if we do it first. You also love to dance. If you are standing you will bounce up and down and if you are sitting you will swing your arms from side to side. I thought daycare had shown you how to dance, but they have not…you just have good rhythm!  You continue to climb on EVERYTHING!  I am surprised that we actually haven’t broken a bone yet…knock on wood!

1 month shy of 1 year old!!!

Really? WOW!  This month has been one of the busiest I think we have had. I feel like I just wrote your 10 month letter yesterday!  Well, where to start…Hadley you are a RIOT!  I can wake up grouchy, and you will make me smile in the first 5 minutes that I see you!

This past month took me to Denver, CO for a week for a continuing education course. I left you for the first time EVER! It was hard, but our good friends, Chris and Lindsey Kurz, took awesome care of me and kept me super busy!  And I survived being away from you and YOU survived staying home with daddy!  Oh….and daddy survived!  Shortly after that trip, Grandpa and Grandma Anderson came and visited for a few days. Immediately upon their departure, came another house full…and I mean FULL!  We had mommy’s entire family here along with some of uncle Jason’s friends from California. There were 16 total staying at the house!

You had your first trip to Chico when Grandpa and Grandma Anderson were here! You got to taste your very first soda pop at Chico. On the drive home we stopped at the Pop Stand (best ice cream ever!) and got some milkshakes. Grandpa and I were in the back seat with you and I was sharing my shake with you. Well, every time grandpa looked over at you, you would stop gobbling down the ice cream and freeze, like he caught you doing something bad. It was SOOO FUNNY!  Grandpa played that game with you for a while-and you even started hiding your face into the corner of your car seat!

You are in LOVE with rocks. If we walk outside or are on a hike, you need a rock! And you are so proud of your rock when you get it. You are constantly on the move and you love to climb. You climb up onto your red lawn chair that I got you, climb up and over the side of the couch/futon, climb over the side of the tub and anything else that can be climbed. You are doing awesome on the stairs. You go up with no problem and also go down great. You are pretty cautious and turn around way before you need to to go down backwards, but sometimes you still need some supervision (and our stairs are big-so someone is always there for safety)!

You loved having all of your cousins around and you definitely long to be able to walk like the rest of them. You are pretty good with sharing your toys, but if you want something you make it known by either screaming really loud at whom ever has the toy you want, or you will wait till they drop it and snatch it up really quick before they even know that they dropped it!

We have had a few flies in the house lately (with leaving the doors open for Maggie and everyone else to come in and out). And one night at dinner, one fly was bugging us and I and your daddy swatted at it and said “shoo fly” and waved our hand…and boy let me tell you….this was the funniest thing you have ever seen. You were laughing so hard and now you wave your hand and we say “shoo fly” and you laugh and laugh!

Mommy had a little scare with you. I got a text from daycare saying that you were having a hard time breathing. That is not a text anyone ever wants to get. So I took you into the doctor, and you were fine.  You have a really bad cold and we have been super smoky from all of the fires around us I think that you just had some mucous build-up that you could have been choking on, but best to take you in to be safe-especially since you had RSV as well!

Bathtub

Tonight wasn’t the first (only the 2nd time) and I am sure it will not be the last…but you took a massive poo in the tub tonight! I really wanted to take a picture, but your dad wouldn’t let me!  I just had to make sure we documented this wonderful story!  You will for sure be likely to thank me later in life!  hahaha

10 months young

Today you are 10 months and one day old!  And boy have you blossomed over the past month!  Where do I even start!?!?  You are figuring out standing and will even stand for a length of time before you lower yourself to the ground and get back to playing!  You will venture out a bit and even try walking with barely holding on to anything, but you are still a ways out before walking, I think!  But you never know!  You have developed quite the personality as well!  You are a little bit shy, a little bit sassy, a little bit loud and little bit boisterous. You are very seldom mad or sad. We tend to see you mad or sad when you have missed a nap or taken a very short one!  You really like to have a utensil when we are having dinner, and you will actually get mad at us if we do not give you one to hold onto…this is usually at the end of dinner, thankfully, so you will actually eat!  And speaking of eating…boy can you eat!  Daycare stated it well today when they said that for breakfast you ate enough food for 5 other kids!  You can definitely put the food down. But I am not sure where it goes, because you are still so little and petite!

Dad took about 8 shots in an attempt to get one good photo of you with your bear….you are such a mover!

Munga and Pappa came up last week to watch you since daycare was closed. Munga had nothing but great things to say about you!  Some of the few things she said was how well you played and how you are such an easy going baby!  The one thing (or two) she did say too was that you can EAT and POOP!   You are a bit difficult to change these days, I feel like it is a wrestling match to get a new diaper on you!

Neat photo I took without even knowing the reflection on your face

IMG_3080

You have picked up on a few things and are using them regularly. If we tell you to say “thank you” you will sign it or if we say “blow kisses” you will (these two are interchangeable-same gesture). You will wave good-bye and sign “dog” when you see Maggie or if we happen to mention her name!  It is the neatest thing to see you put the world together! We are now working on “I love you!”

IMG_3099

We ventured out for our first camping experience (in the 5th wheel)…no back-country yet!  We headed up to Canyon Ferry Lake with Munga and Pappa!  You loved to camp…you would play in the dirt, throw rocks, play with your toys and you even had a good time on the boat!  And most importantly (to mom and dad) YOU SLEPT WELL!!!!  We even had a huge lightening storm roll through and you didn’t even flinch!

If you really want something you make this funny nasal/sniffing sound and will give a huge grin at the same time!  You also will intentionally ignore people and you do this by quickly turning your head to the left and then to the right (still haven’t caught it on video!)
